The Animal Doctor;
Making a Difference
By John Waterhouse

On the surface, The Animal Doctor, P.C., voted the Best Veterinarian Hospital by the Reader’s Choice Awards, is a veterinary clinic with four dedicated doctors.  But when you scratch that surface you’ll find a group that are truly dedicated to making a difference in their community.

“Every year we coordinate with the Broomfield Police Department’s Secret Santa program,” explains Doctor Rotkovich.  “We gather information about the family, how many children they have, their ages, sizes, and things they’d like to get for Christmas, and then out staff buys the gifts.”  This year, with the help of their clients, they were able to raise $500 to give this year’s family as well as a holiday meal and gifts.   “We don’t know who got it this year,“ says Doctor Rotkovich, “but we hope it made them happy.”

The staff at The Animal Doctor, P.C. also

participates in other yearly charity events.  Two years ago they ran as a team in the Race for the Cure (benefiting the fight against cancer).

In addition, Dr. Guerrera participated in several 100 mile bike races and triathlons.  Dr. Sievers donated part of his fees to save a therapeutic riding horse’s life that was colicky for seventeen days.

Probably the biggest two outreaches that The Animal Doctor, P.C. is known for are the Broomfield Days Best Dressed Dog Contest and the Pet-Santa Pictures in December.  People come from around the county to watch the most adorable kids walk their Best Dressed Dogs up onto the stage in front of over 300 fans.  At Christmas, Santa-Pet pictures are done by a professional photographer and The Animal Doctor, P.C. pays for the sitting with Santa.

This year we are doing more races, a new free veterinary lecture series and a new kid’s vet camp this summer.

Aside from their busy veterinary practice and annual charity events, the staff at The Animal Doctor, P.C. takes time to talk about veterinary medicine with schools and Girl Scout groups.  “We strive for excellence here,” explains Doctor Rotkovich/  “Out owner is committed to continuing education and making sure that we are all up to date on the newest procedures in this dynamic profession.”

The Animal Doctor’s philosophy extends well beyond their business doors; they understand that they are part of a bigger family…their community.  Thanks you for your time and energy!
