The Broomfield Days' Best Dressed Dog Contest was started in September 1986 By Kayla Sievers, Dave Sievers, DVM and Mike Martin, DVM.

The first year, the veterinarians used a patrol car's PA system to announce the contest and had a cat contest as well. The cats weren't allowed to actually attend because of possible danger. So, their owners submitted pictures of their favorite cat dressed in his or her best.
Since those early years, the contest has grown to more than 45 contestants and over 300 fans. Contestants compete for many prizes including the most coveted prize of all, FREE VETERINARY CARE for one year!!
The most magical thing is watching the young children proudly bring their Best Dressed Dogs to the contest!
The Animal Doctor, PC has also has a booth at Broomfield Days. Free medical information, and an absolutely huge amount of free goods sponsored by many dog food and drug companies is available.
